Help us help Paris the puppy mill Mom
Paris is a much older Great Pyrenees girl that we have taken in to rescue. Paris has had a sad life before she came to us. She spent her life cranking out litters of puppies for a Mennonite puppy mill living life on a chai. At the age of 6, she looks 12. Her poor body is worn out.
Unfortunately, Paris is suffering from her lack of care and has two significant (and expensive) problems that must be addressed. The first problem is that her teeth are shot. Her front teeth are exposed to the root and need to be pulled. This is most likely caused by chewing on the metal chain she lived on.
More troubling, she has recurrent mastitis that we have not been able to clear up with antibiotics. On Monday, Paris will have surgery to drain her teats and take some biopsies of tissue to be certain we aren't dealing with mammary tumors.
The vet estimates she has probably had 10 litters in her six years of life. Pyrs have an average of 8-10 puppies per litter, so you can do the math.
We want to give her the best chance possible to live out her years healthy and happy. The vet esimates her care will cost $650 for both surgeries. If you would like to donate to her care, you can donate here. Thanks as always for your help. We could not do what we do without your support.
