Belle's amputation fund

Organized by Big Fluffy Dog Rescue

Happy Update
Belle has had surgery, it went great with no complications, and they forsee a quick, and full recovery. She is headed to her specialized foster for aftercare tomorrow. Hopefully we'll have some updated pics of her in the next day or two.
Great News
A very kind vet heard about Belle's plea and has offered to do her surgery for $550! He can't do her until Monday, but we will get her to her new foster with our rescue this weekend and keep her as comfortable as possible until then.

Still Urgently Needs Help
We haven't moved Belle yet, we don't want to stress her out by moving her until we are able to do something for her, so this is still very urgent.

The rescue is broke, we are unable to front her or any significant extra cost for dogs right now. We have always tried to not let money stop us from helping deserving dogs, but we've had too many lately, and we are not able to front such a large cost.

We can't save this girl without help. We still need to raise about $700 before we can get her surgery done.

Belle Needs Emergency Surgery
Belle was taken in by a good Samaritan who found her in rural TN. It appears she was hit by a car, and had a badly broken leg. The vet estimated the break to be about 8 weeks old, as the bones had already fused back together, but the open wound was gruesome and badly infected.
The woman who found her couldn't really afford treatment, but did what she could with her vet's assistance. She was started on anti-biotics and a topical horse antiseptic (the purple) was used in hopes that would kill the infection.
That didn't help, and after about a week, the vet told her the infection was only getting worse, it appeared to actually be in the bone now, leaving her at a high risk of developing a systemic infection (infection of the blood, pretty much untreatable by that point) and the only choice at this point is to amputate her leg.
Her finder knowing that she not only couldn't afford the surgery, but also that she couldn't provide her with the specialized care she will need afterward, contacted us for help.
Belle is a very sweet, loving, well mannered dog, even in the excruciating pain that she is in, and she deserves a chance at life.
We are happy to take her in, and have a foster prepared to care for her after surgery. We are hoping to get her to Nashville and to one of our orthopedic specialists by Monday, Tuesday at the latest, to have her surgery done, but we will need at least half of the total cost before we can go ahead with surgery.
It's been done before, and we are reaching out for help again. We hate to let money stand in the way of saving a wonderful dog, but we can't save her on our own.
This is very urgent. If we're going to save her, we're going to have to act fast.

Just look in eyes, how could anyone turn her away? She has already endured close to 10 weeks of pain and suffering, if not more.

Here is a link to a close up of her injury. It is graphic, so I didn't want to post the full pic on here for those that don't want to see. It's also at an odd angle, but taking a pic of a wound like this without hurting the dog isn't easy.
